She Rules All The Cities

She rules all the cities and towns of the Old World,
I only rule this patch of arable land.
And I admire her for it.
She does not know.
She will never know
What it means to love people for who they are
And not want anything else from them, but understanding.

"Greetings from wherever,
...YOU ARE SO STUPID FOR THINKING THAT!"
And I get all sentimental,
I blow my nose into a bandanna,
Thinking she's my savior,
Just because she knows one of those.

She rules some cities and towns of the New World,
I can't even rule a former field of grain.
And she does not understand.
She does not see.
She will never see
What it meant to all of us and who we are
And what our lives used to be in the Decade of Darkness.

"Greetings from wherever,
...YOU ARE SO STUPID FOR LIKING HIM!"
And I get a headache and cry,
I lie down, feeling like a lesser being,
Knowing I have no savior,
And the true savior has just fallen badly.

STOP IT STOP IT STOP IT STOP IT
STOP IT STOP IT STOP IT STOP, IT!!!

If only she knew that a patch of green and blue rules me
A patch neither she, nor the true savior would understand...

Sadly, the date matters. Because thirteen years ago, there was a pogrom. And I am into pogroms changing lives. But not in the way you think...
