I almost deleted this website yesterday. I had a bad, bad, bad PMS (sorry for too much info) and I don't remember having been this self-destructive in years. The past two weeks have been mentally overwhelming for me, with good and bad things bombing me each from its own side. Blah. I could use some cheering up now.

The first week, which is, well, the week before this one was all about one BIG shock. Let's say that some people are becoming more and more dominant as I'm writing this and that they have changed their tactics from You all suck to Aww, I love you guys so much! Wanna be my friends? Whoever the person in question is, they're really taking this shiznit too far and I don't get how they're winning people? Maybe because people whom they're winning, with honourable exceptions, are the social butterflies. Either way, I've had enough of know your whatever this year.

Unlike that week, the week that's ending with today was...well, stressful. I learned one thing from it: never ask your parents for job advise. I am close to getting a very nice job and I almost lost it because mom and dad were telling me how much to ask from the job providers...and my unofficial older sister was on their side. In the end, it turned out that the pay IS small, but that it WILL increase as I'm advancing so...yeah, I said yes. Once the contract is signed, I'll tell you where I'm going to work, but I guess it's not that hard to guess. And no, it's not Pepsi :p

Fabuland: Amusement Park
Does anyone of my age and slightly younger/older remember Fabuland? You know, one of those lines of products Lego had before they became waaay too complicated to follow. For an anthro fan like myself, Fabuland was Promiseland. All the characters were cute animals. My favourite was and always will be Max Mouse. In my mind, Lucy Lamb was always his girlfriend, as they were together in most of the playsets they were a part of. I have a small roudabount with a parkbench, with Max and Lucy, I have a house with Bonnie Bunny and Edward Elephant, as well as the bus station with Nessie Hippo and Mike Monkey. But I don't have the amusement park on this picture. That one was my obsession. When I went to Italy with mom and dad in 1987, I wanted that one so much, but I got some Lego Basic set instead. Then mom went to Germany twice in 1988, but she'd always bring me something else. Then it turned out that my wonderful friend Mira never got that one either. And we made a deal: one day we're soooo going to get that amusement park, no matter how much it costs. Yes, we're mad, but proud of it as well.

Awh. gives you one gigantic hug*

Omg haha. I remember those. I still have that lego mat thing, where you can stick the lego onto. The green pad thing.. :)

Hmm. thinks hard to where you work* I can see it now.. You work.. at Pepsi's rival company, Coke :D

I can certainly relate. This is the first time I'm being destructive just because I'm PMSing. Bad, bad, and bad indeed.

People change. The question if it's for the better. Most Filipinos are like that: social climbers.

    Congratulations on the job. :D

Sadly, I don't know Fabuland. I used to play Lego, but I guess Fabuland never reached the Philippines.

I got a job Internet-related myself! :D (Is it an Internet-related job, by the way?) And these past months I had had the most terrible PMS of my life (since I started taking "the pill" it's a nightmare, I think I'd prefer my old childish metabolism back)... Er, sorry about the details here as well, it's just that it seems we are living similar things at the same time :p

In Spain we had "El parque acuático de Pin y Pon". Pin y Pon were two tiny characters and their amusement park was super cool  , with water and stuff. I had it  . If by the time of your retirement you don't get that Fabuland, you can use my "parque acuático"... I think it's in several pieces somewhere in our penthouse

Edit: your mother must have liked John's new look, doesn't she? Hairs off! 8)

  5. Rika says:

Oh man. One PMS monster here too! *waves*

I remember Fabuland! I do! Pick me! Woo! It was like Teh Bestest of Lego liekever. Never had that amusement park, but a good load of other, smaller ones. I had the boat with the Walrus-dude, and he was my favorite. Why on earth did they stop making Fabuland anyways? Belleville sucks so bad compared to Fabuland. *sulk*

Also: Technic Legos rule. Or at least they used to, back in the days when there was still an opportunity to make lots of different things with one pack.

  6. Nan says:

I am sorry you had such a bad day! Hopefully it will be some time before you have another. I guess it's better to have a big temper than no temper at all - survival of human and stuff that I am not getting into here.

I had the extended amusement park for Fabuland - and I still have it. My daughter will inherit it when she is old enough to not eat it. I have tons of Fabuland - I am very happy I kept it.

Stress can totally get you down but that kind of destructive attitude means it's taking over you. That's sad but I'm glad you didn't actually act on those impulses and delete your site, cause I'm sure you'd have regretted it later. Those people, they sound kinda stupid. I mean really, first they're gonna hate on people then they're all friendly and fake? Whoever they are, they're not worth your time. Good luck with the job app. You're right, you just gotta listen to your own self and go with what feels right. Sometimes parents want too much for you and end up screwing everything up.

  8. Starlet says:

Hey Iva, I sure remember you...I was a big fan of your site for a long time, nice to hear from you again...good old Despair, brining people back together hehe

Congratulations on the new job :)
I don't remember Fabuland at all, even though I am around your age...maybe it wasn't out in the UK?
    xx

  9. Kaisa says:

I'm sorry you've had such hard times lately, but congratulations on the new job!

Oy, Fabuland! I had the amusement park set but sadly half of the parts are lost :( Ha, Max Mouse was my favourite too :)

  10. Alex says:

Hey awsome site! I love the smilies  ! lol

  11. Kylee says:

Oh I know exactly what you mean by bad PMS! Ugh I do things I usually regret and end up a little teary. Yeah I'm pretty much a drama queen for at least a day. All the rest of the month is just normal drama :D !haha! Well I'm glad you didn't delete your site, I know I would have regreted it if I had done the same. My site is my pride and joy.

Well Congratz on your new job!

  12. Zen says:

    I hope you're feeling better soon :D
I've never heard of Fabuland, but it looks really cute ^^

  13. Mira says:

  14. Lara says:

Oh, I know how PMS feels; So terrible!! Anyway, I was a little upset about John shaving his head too (Especially since I'm going to see him live soon) but like you said, it's good too. ;)
